New DC Play Time!
The recent Sunday games have been some of the best in recent memory, but unfortunately 9pm GMT just before the start of the working week isn't feasible for everyone. Because of this, we've decided to try out a SECOND WEEKLY GAME at Wednesday 7pm GMT. Please note that the Sunday game will continue as normal so don't panic if you can't make Wednesday or simply prefer playing at the weekend.

In somewhat related news I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone in the community for the great turnout we've been having recently. I've seen lots of new players return to the game in the last couple of weeks and there have been several sporadic mid-week games starting, which is great. Keep it up everyone!

Recent Downtime
Sorry about that! If anyone has taken notice the website was down for about a week. This was my fault as I switched the DC host and never changed the domain nameservers. Anywho, website's back, and sorry about any inconvenience.

Also, if anything on the site isn't working properly after the switch, please let me know. Thanks!

OMG! New maps!
Thanks to Loki we now have 7 new maps added to our database! They are:

In addition to these new maps, the following map downloads have been updated: dc_annopus, dc_assault, dc_assaultdepot, dc_bloodsport, dc_boomtown, dc_Cult, dc_depot, dc_fall, dc_ghostship, dc_hellfiret2, dc_kamik, dc_melee2k, dc_meleearena, dc_steelrain, dc_x-Fade, and foe_dm. Nothing major, just updated resource files have been included with the maps. Another thing to note is that dc_kingtown, dc_lanparty, dc_meleeless, dc_shafted, and water1 from the "Custom Adventure 2: Crap Edition" map pack have been placed up for separate download and now also include updated resource files.

Lastly, the main map pack found at http://desertcrisis.net/download.php?view.44 has been updated with everything. For those of you who are lazy, simply download the giant map pack and extract it to your Desert Crisis folder.

That's all for now, keep a look out for a new Custom Map Adventure in the near future!

Steam Problems
Some of you have noticed that the recent Steam update has caused a few problems for Half Life 1 mods, specifically that you are now unable to search for 3rd-party mod servers.

If you're new to Desert Crisis and haven't been able to find servers, add these to your favourites or click on them to join automatically:

14-man, EU [NK] Server

32-man, US [NK] Server

Hopefully Valve will do something to remedy this, I'll keep you updated as things progress.

UPDATE: This has been fixed in a recent Steam update, so let's get back to playing DC!

New servers = DONATION TIME!
Compy recently purchased two shiny new [NK] servers for us to play on, and to keep these nice, relatively lag-free servers going we all need to start making donations. Now I know some of you might not want or might not be able to donate, but we only need five or more players to donate $5 or more a month to keep things going, and let's be honest guys, $5 a month is hardly breaking the bank.

To read more about the servers and to see a list of who's donated, check out Compy's post here.

To donate, click here.

A big thanks to everyone who's already donated!

Big update! A lot of Desert Crisis content has been recovered and added to the downloads section thanks to Rothgar over at CustomFactor.com. Pop over there and give him a big thanks!

First thing's first, the DC Installer and patch have been updated to version 1.5c and include quite a few updates! Even if you downloaded the 1.5a installer up previously I highly suggest you get the patch, a good amount has been updated, I even worked on making the commandmenu useful! Anyone running servers or planning to run servers should also get the 1.5c server binaries from the installer or patch, they really fixed a lot of things!

Now onto the other updates, a bunch of map downloads have been updated with resource files and briefings, and a handful of maps have been added to the downloads section as well! The updated maps include:
dc_arena, dc_bulletproof, dc_cerebrum, dc_ctf_hellfire, dc_desertcity, dc_dusk, dc_grav, dc_gravruin, dc_legoland, dc_mine, dc_snipecity, dc_subzero, dc_aztec, dc_countryside2, dc_sandtorn2, dc_sideway, and dc_village2
The new maps added are:
dc_ctf_unknown, dc_Cult, dc_depot, dc_dust, dc_fall, dc_grassland, dc_hellfiret2, dc_hyrule, dc_kamik, dc_underground, dc_x-Fade, and foe_dm

I have made a map pack of every map available for download as well so you don't have to bother downloading each and every map if you want them all!

Last but not least, as a little bonus to everything, an alternate steam menu has been put up in the downloads section if you've gotten sick of the new one already.

And that's about it! Go download the new installer and GO PLAY SOME DESERT CRISIS!
